The Nebraska Water Resources Association held its final Water Roundtable meeting for the 2025 Legislative Session on May 8, 2025. Jesse Bradley, Joint Interim Director of the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (DEE), served as the featured speaker. He provided an update on the approved merger of the two departments. Effective July 1, 2025, the new Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment will be established, consolidating the currently separate DNR and DEE.
The Roundtable meetings, hosted by the Nebraska Water Resources Association, are designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and information on a wide range of water-related topics, including treatment, management, sustainability, water resources, water quality, distribution, and groundwater.
These meetings take place on the second Thursday of each month during the regular Legislative Session, which runs from January through April or May.
